Chris Krenk, MSW - Chief Executive Officer


Chris has served as Albertina Kerr's CEO since 1990 and has been a recognized leader in guiding mental health and developmental disabilities programs for more than 30 years. He started his social work career in Eugene, working as a residential counselor in a group home. He later moved into a supervisory position but left to pursue his Master of Social Work at the University of Washington. Prior to coming to Kerr, Chris spent five years as the CEO of the Cedar Hills Psychiatric Hospital and previously worked at the Christie School as the director of program services.

Chris is the founder of the Foster Family Care Network, member of Portland Pearl Rotary, board member and past Chairman of the board for CareOregon, board member of the Nonprofit Association of Oregon, a past president of Oregon Alliance of Children’s Programs and a past member of the Governor’s Task Force to Evaluate Oregon State Hospital Abuse Prevention and Reporting Procedures.

Jeanne Farr, MA - President, Disabilities Services & Strategic Projects


Jeanne is a recognized leader in the disability services field in Oregon. For more than 30 years, she has worked in nonprofit organizations, serving people with developmental disabilities. She is recognized throughout the state for her skill in fostering collaboration and for her legislative advocacy on behalf of people with disabilities. Jeanne has a graduate degree in Intercultural Relations from the University of the Pacific and has been with Albertina Kerr since 1993. As President, Disabilities Services & Strategic Projects, she has the responsibility for the 24-hour oversight of a wide array of services for more than 200 people with developmental disabilities across a five-county area. Jeanne has served on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Rehabilitation Association and is member of the Oregon Developmental Disabilities Coalition.

Peter Tompkins-Rosenblatt, MSW - President of Youth & Family Services Division

Peter brings many years of progressively responsible human services management experience to Albertina Kerr: most recently, five years in executive/senior management positions and, prior to that, 13 years in middle management/supervisory positions.

Peter's most recent position was serving as the Executive Director of The Link, a non-profit organization serving at-risk youth and young adults in Minneapolis, MN. Prior to that he worked as the Senior Director of Children’s Services for Catholic Charities in St. Paul, MN and the Director of Education for Statewide Child and Youth Care Workers at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Milwaukee, WI. From 1994-2003 he was employed in management positions in two Portland area human service non-profit organizations -- Janus Youth Programs and Morrison Child & Family Services.

Doug Butler - Chief Facilities & Fleet Officer

Doug comes to Albertina Kerr with extensive experience in facilities management.  He served as the Facilities Director for Multnomah County for six years, worked at Metro for four years as a department director, and worked for the Portland Development Commission for six years in various management positions including Acting Executive Director.  Doug is also a licensed real estate broker and has been a small business owner. In addition, Doug currently volunteers on the Loan Committee at Mercy Corps NW and been a community volunteer and board member at a number of nonprofit human service organizations over the past 30 years.

 Brenda Eames, JD - Corporate Compliance Officer
                         

For the past 25 years, Brenda has worked for non-profit agencies including the Special Olympics, Central Oregon Mediation and safe shelters providing legal assistance for domestic violence victims. Prior to joining Albertina Kerr, Brenda worked for the State of Oregon Department of Human Resources and the Oregon Health Authority. Brenda is a graduate of Western State University College of Law (Juris Doctorate) and Mount St. Mary’s College (B.A.-Business Law) and earned the Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from the U.S. Compliance Certification Board.

Jerry Hoffert, MBA - Chief Financial Officer

Jerry was appointed Controller of Albertina Kerr in 2005 and promoted to CFO in 2007. He had previously worked in the Albertina Kerr finance department for eight years, beginning as a staff accountant and leaving in the position of Accounting Operations Director. He then worked for a year as the Assistant Controller at Morrison Child and Family Services. Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Linfield College and his MBA from George Fox University. In 2010, Jerry was named one of the top three nonprofit CFOs in Portland by the Portland Business Journal. Jerry is also a board member of United Cerebral Palsy Association of Oregon and SW Washington.

Jodi Lippert, CFRE - Chief Development Officer


Jodi is responsible for Albertina Kerr’s fundraising, marketing/public relations and volunteer efforts. She brings 20 years of experience working with social service, arts, health and youth non-profit organizations to advance their development efforts. Prior to joining Albertina Kerr in 2004, she worked for three years as the Director of Development for Ballet West in Salt Lake City, where she directed a $12 million capital campaign. A native of Minnesota, Jodi is a graduate of the University of Oregon and earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) from the Association of Fund Raising Professionals.

Craig Rusch - Chief Information Officer

For the past 17 years, Craig has been addressing the technology needs of for-profit companies and nonprofit agencies. Craig began work as a programmer and then manager for Andersen Consulting, working for telecommunication clients such as Bell Atlantic. Upon relocation to the West coast, Craig managed the implementation of one of the earliest forms of Movies on Demand for Tele-TV, a joint venture between Bell Atlantic, Pacific Bell and Nynex. After moving to Portland, Craig was the VP of Technology at two startup ventures, Active Arts and Pointsbeyond.com, before leading Nike’s Business-to-Business Internet strategy group—a project which has resulted in more than $1 billion in online sales.

Matthew Warner, MBA, SPHR - Chief Human Resources Officer

  

Matt previously served as Director of Human Resources and has been with Albertina Kerr since 2008.  His previous positions have included a variety of human resources and general management positions in for-profit healthcare, business services, and consulting.  He is a past President Southwest Washington SHRM, a local chapter affiliate of the Society for Human Resources Management.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Thomas Edison State College and a Master of Business Administration with a Management and Strategy focus from Western Governor's University, and he holds Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute.  He was included in the Vancouver Business Journal’s 2013 group of “Accomplished and Under 40” professionals. He resides in Camas, Wash., where he is a Trustee of the Camas Public Library and active community volunteer.

Karen Ward- Executive Director, Children's Developmental Health and Hearing Services

                

Karen Ward joined Albertina Kerr in 2013 when the Children’s Developmental Health Institute was acquired by Albertina Kerr. Previously, she served more than two years with Children’s Relief Nursery in Oregon, where she had the roles of Executive Director and Director of Finance and Administration. Prior to those positions, she worked for Deloitte LLP for 22 years, most recently as a Senior Audit Manager. During her time with Deloitte, Ms. Ward worked with many healthcare and nonprofit clients, including Kaiser, Regence, and low-income housing organizations.

Linda Schmidt, MD, Medical Director - Youth & Family Services Division


Dr. Schmidt previously served as an on-call psychiatrist to Crisis Psychiatric Care and as a consulting psychiatrist for other Albertina Kerr youth services. She holds a doctorate in medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed her general psychiatry residency training at Harvard Longwood in Boston before moving to Oregon to complete her training at Oregon Health and Science University Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Training Program. Dr. Schmidt has more than 10 years of experience in the field, most recently having spent the last five years with Providence's Child & Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Program. In addition, she has worked at Providence St. Vincent Adolescent Eating Disorder Program, Trillium Family Services and Kaiser Permanente.

Bennett Gertz, MD - Medical Director, Children's Developmental Health and Hearing Services


Dr. Bennett Gertz, M.D., has been part of the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics team at CDHS, previously the Children's Developmental Health Institute, since 2010. He has always been interested in how the brain works, and how it affects the way people navigate their world. Particular clinical interests include children with social and executive dysfunction, such as those with Autism and ADHD. Previously, Dr. Gertz lived in Washington, DC where he completed his Pediatrics residency at Georgetown University and his Neurodevelopmental Disabilities fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center. During his time at CDHS, he completed the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) fellowship. He also participated in research at CDHS, using advanced imaging techniques to examine the executive challenges of people with metabolic disorders, which he presented at multiple national conferences. In addition, he took part in the Autism research at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Gertz was born and raised just outside of Boston. He received his B.S. in Biology with a minor in Cognitive Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and M.D. at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
