Albertina Kerr is opening two new children’s group homes purchased with help from the Washington County Office of Community Development, Special Needs Housing, and a local foundation.
These new group homes, located in Washington and Marion counties, are currently on schedule to open in September for the start of the school year. In order to meet this ambitious deadline, we need the community’s support to add the finishing touches that will make each house a home. Click here to see a detailed list of household items needed.
Once occupied, these new homes will make way for Kerr to expand its child crisis psychiatric care program in Gresham from 24 to 30 beds and to accommodate children and teens with more complex needs, including co-occurring IDD and mental health challenges. By doing so, Kerr will address the growing and unmet needs of this underserved population and will become the first provider west of the Mississippi to do so.
