The $10,000 donation will help Albertina Kerr expand access to the high-quality mental health services for children and teens struggling with their mental well-being. This includes hiring more mental health therapists to their Outpatient Mental Health Services, in addition to extending telehealth resources.

“Albertina Kerr is an organization of high standards with a critical mission that is led by talented people. Everything they do reflects this in a winning and unmistakable way and we’re proud to support all their efforts,” said Jeremy Andersen, an independent agent and CEO for Durham & Bates. “We are forever grateful to receive this Make More Happen Award from Liberty Mutual and Safeco to provide Kerr with much needed funds to continue their impactful work.”

Supporting Kerr since 2007, the Durham & Bates Insurance team participates in the Kerr’s Grant a Wish holiday gift drive, purchasing and delivering gifts to Kerr clients, along with sponsoring various annual fundraising events. Durham & Bates also provides its associates with 12 hours of paid volunteer time, where they frequently choose to assist with activities like sorting donations and making phone calls.

In spite of the barriers presented by COVID, Durham & Bates was able to maintain their financial support of Kerr, including a $3,500 donation to 24 Hours of Kerr. The insurance team also assembled a team of vaccinated employees who donated over 60 hours of volunteer time to assist with assembling packets for this year’s virtual Rip City Race for the Roses.

“We are so proud of our agents and their commitment to volunteering for important causes in their local communities to raise both funds and awareness,” said Amie Thomas, Liberty Mutual Insurance Northwest Region Territory Manager. “The Make More Happen Awards allow our agents to make an even greater impact in Portland and we hope it motivates others to do the same.”

Throughout 2021, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance will select a total of 34 independent agents nationwide for a Make More Happen Award donating up to $340,000 to the nonprofits they support. Agencies became eligible for the award by submitting an application demonstrating their commitment to a specific nonprofit, along with photos of a project they worked on.
