Kerr Assistant Program Manager Edy Luttrell received the Oregon Resources Association (ORA) 2022 Works of Heart Award for her dedication and service during ORA’s virtual NW Conference on Disability Services.

Her coworkers note how Edy goes above and beyond for Kerr’s clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), helping them build life skills. Whether it is finding fun community activities or helping them be more independent in their group home, Edy’s motto is ‘focus on abilities rather than disabilities.’

When a Kerr client was transferring from their home of over 20 years to a new Kerr home, the adjustment was challenging for the resident. The change for this individual was confusing, resulting in behavior problems. Edy reassured the resident by repeatedly telling them, “We are here for you, and you are safe.” This resident was soon happy and calmer about the transition.

“Edy has the biggest heart and is the most compassionate person I have ever met,” said Debra Blomberg, a Program Manager II at Kerr. “She truly is a work of heart.”

Congratulations, Edy! You make us all proud!
