At Albertina Kerr, meaningful employment opens doors to connection, confidence, and community. For Soren, those doors opened at Seed to Table in Sisters, Oregon — where he’s thriving as a valued member of the farm team.

Soren is known for his quick smile, his willingness to learn, and his love of connecting with people. Whether he’s chatting with customers at the Sunday market or sharing a laugh with his coworkers, his enthusiasm shines through. He also takes great pride in his work, knowing his contributions are essential and appreciated.

Two days a week, you’ll find Soren labeling produce bags; another day, he’s out in the fields clearing garden beds and delivering weeds and produce scraps to “Compost Mountain” or the farm cows. On Sundays, he’s at the market, helping sell fresh, organic produce to customers. His ability to strike up a conversation with anyone makes him a beloved presence in the community.

“I’ve supported Soren as both his job developer and now his job coach, and it’s incredible to see how much he enjoys knowing his work matters. Every week, the farm uses 250 of his stickered bags — it’s essential, and he takes pride in it,” said Morgan Montoya, Employment Consultant at Kerr.

Soren’s journey reflects the impact of Kerr’s Supported Employment program, which pairs dedicated consultants like Morgan with individuals seeking meaningful work. From job development and placement to ongoing coaching, this support ensures that employment is not only achievable but sustainable.

Seed to Table is a place filled with friendly staff, thriving community programs, and even curious peacocks wandering through the fields. For Soren, it’s more than just a workplace — it’s a place where he feels valued, connected, and proud of the difference he makes.
