Members of Albertina Kerr’s Advocacy Specialist Team shared what Disability Pride means to them, in their own words:

Artemus: “Disabled doesn’t mean broken. A disability is part of someone’s life, but it does not define their whole worth. Disabled people still have goals, relationships, jobs, talents, and independence. The problem is not the person—it can be barriers, lack of access, or unfair attitudes. People deserve respect, support, and inclusion, not pity. My disability is part of me, but I am still whole, capable, and worthy just as I am.”

Jordan: “I won’t be defined by what the world assumes I cannot do. I am disabled, I am capable, and I have the power to make change happen.”

Lenni: “My barriers are not problems; they have always been my strength. I continue to learn how to exceed my limits and expectations and teach others to do so with my experience.”
