Madison Ritter’s remarkable dedication over the past 5 years as both a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and Assistant Program Manager (APM) at Albertina Kerr has earned her the Works of Heart Award from the Oregon Resource Association (ORA). She has worked tirelessly to support young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) as they transition to independent living.

She has an extraordinary ability to connect with young adults with complex needs. As Kerr Program Manager Rhonda Inderkum shared, “We walk a fine line between advisor and navigating challenges, and Madison does this better than anyone I’ve ever seen.”

She empowers those she supports to take charge of their lives, offering thoughtful guidance while ensuring they feel respected and supported. Her consistent willingness to go the extra mile sets her apart. Rhonda shared, “Madison’s willingness to see past the angry and the challenging to the person underneath, helps the people she serves learn that there are people out in the world who can be counted on and who can and will have your back.”

Madison’s influence extends beyond her the young adults she supports—she’s a role model for her peers, stepping up to leadership as an Assistant Program Manager. Her calm, dependable presence, and great cooking skills has earned her the deep respect of her team, who frequently look to her for guidance. She sets a high standard for care and collaboration, making her leadership a source of inspiration.

The Works of Heart Award recognition is a testament to the quiet, transformative impact Madison makes every day. Her unwavering dedication changes lives, empowering her clients to lead self-determined lives.

Congratulations, Madison! You make us all proud!
